Introducing the Hub

Allow us to introduce The Hub!

Regional Youth Adult Social Action Partnership (RYASAP) and Southwest Regional Mental Health Board (SWRMHB) have merged to form The Hub: the new state-designated Regional Behavioral Health Action Organization (RBHAO) serving Southwestern CT.

Our role is to support and coordinate mental health, suicide prevention, substance misuse and problem gambling efforts in the 14 communities from Greenwich through Greater Bridgeport and to serve as the liaison between the region and state. We support the Local Prevention Councils in each town to prevent substance misuse and promote mental health, and we bring consumers and providers together to identify needs and barriers in the treatment and recovery system.

The Hub also houses the TurningPointCT.org project, which is staffed by young people in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.

TheTurningPointCT staff provides peer support online, through our SMART Recovery® support groups, and through school and college presentations. The Hub also operates SMART Recovery® Family & Friends groups in English and Spanish.

As a program of RYASAP, The Hub benefits from a connection with RYASAP’s AmeriCorps/PreventionCorps program. Our PreventionCorps member is available to provide opioid education and Narcan trainings to the community.

actively engaging organizations, public officials, and community leaders around issues that matter most to the community. Executive Director, Marc Donald, says of the merger, “we are excited to return to our roots as a substance abuse prevention agency and merge with SWRMHB which has a long track record of work in the mental health field.”

Margaret Watt, former SWRMHB executive director, will serve as the co-director of The Hub along with Giovanna Mozzo, the former Norwalk Regional Action Council director.
